Winter is getting closer, and the beautiful winter atmosphere is approaching us at an incredible speed! And what is winter? It’s the time for sledding, skiing, snow games, and of course, ice skating! Do you love going to the ice rink? This winter, you must definitely go ice skating, and we will help you with that.
We were all sad to say goodbye to the iconic ice rink at the Natural History Museum back in 2021. But fortunately, this winter, a completely new ice skating venue will appear in central London, which means that just because one ice rink disappeared, the city will not be any less festive.
A completely new ice rink will appear in Hanover Square in Westminster from November 4th until New Year. Thanks to its unique design, this ice venue will be the first elliptical ice rink in the history of London. Whether you resemble Bambi on ice or imagine yourself as the next Tonya Harding, there will be something for everyone.
Hanover Square is located in Westminster, London. It is a green area where the red brick “India House” is located, formerly the Hanover Bank.
In addition to this, there are many other ice skating venues in London. For example, Alexandra Palace Ice Rink offers the opportunity to skate in a building that was built in 1873. Additionally, Ice Rink Canary Wharf offers the opportunity to skate under the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf.
There are numerous ice skating venues in London. Some of them include:
1. Winter Wonderland Ice Rink: This is the largest outdoor ice rink in the UK, located in Hyde Park. It operates from November 17th to January 1st and offers the opportunity to skate around a Victorian kiosk under the light of lanterns and live music.
2. Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink: This ice rink is located right in front of the famous Henry VIII Palace and offers the opportunity to skate under the facade of the palace, which is illuminated with beautiful colors at nightfall. After skating, you can relax at the ice bar.
3. Kingdom of Winter Ice Rink: This is the first indoor ice rink in London, located at ExCeL London. It operates from December 8th to January 7th and offers the opportunity to skate on ice surrounded by breathtaking snowy landscapes. After skating, you can go for a festive walk or grab a snack.
4. Westfield ice rink at the Winter Village London: This is a new attraction that will open on November 19th, 2023, and will operate until January 8th, 2024. The ice rink is located in Westfield Square and has an area of 1000 square meters. It is made of real ice and decorated with the tallest Christmas tree on an ice rink in Europe, reaching almost 20 meters. Ice skating costs from £11. You can book tickets online or come on-site. The ice rink is open seven days a week from 10 am to 9 pm.
Grab your family, friends, or loved ones and go ice skating and enjoy the winter!
