Date when the famous Christmas lights of Covent Garden will be turned on

Winter, snowflakes, and white ground are already close, the most beautiful time of the year is not far away. London is getting ready for Christmas. And Christmas in London means lights – lots of lights. Over the next few months, the streets of London gradually become adorned with sparkling stars.
Covent Garden
Naturally, the most exciting part of the Christmas lights is the big switch-on. Both Carnaby Street and Oxford Street have announced changes in dates and themes. Next up is Covent Garden, which is home to some of London’s most enchanting Christmas displays and has just announced when its lights will be lit.
Lights switch-on
Tuesday, November 7th – a date you should mark on your calendar. The largest light display in Covent Garden’s history will illuminate the square and its seven dials, with a whopping 140,000 lights illuminating the streets and an additional 30,000 lighting up the giant 18-meter Christmas tree.
Festival aesthetics
Aesthetic little stalls and big brands scattered throughout Covent Garden and around it make it one of London’s best Christmas shopping destinations. Of course, you may have to navigate through quite a large crowd to reach the last of these adorable lights, but the show this year might be worth it.
Bells
Alongside the abundance of lights, the market building will feature new decorations, including 40 golden bells covered in 46 kilometers of gold leaf.
Winter warmth
The Winter Warmth Festival will also return this year, with mulled wine and hot drinks ready to warm you up after intense shopping, and there will surely be a whole bunch of Christmas pop-up windows. The switch-on marks the beginning of seven weeks of festivities.
