Writers & critics

Pitch us an essay, a piece of criticism or a review. We are looking for writers with a point of view on art, film, literature, music, theatre, fashion or design. Send the idea and a link to something you have written; we read every pitch and reply.

Artists

Submit your work for editorial consideration. Our editors read every submission and select, on merit alone, artists for an in-depth feature.

Exhibitions, events & productions

Propose an exhibition, a gallery, a stage production, a screening, a festival or a release for review, or discuss a media partnership. We cover what interests our readers and are open to collaboration.

The terms, in plain words

One-off contributions are unpaid; regular contributors and columnists can agree a fee with the editor. We never charge for coverage. You keep the copyright: we publish under First UK English Language Serial Rights, keep the piece in our archive, and after that it is yours to place wherever you like.

Profiles and features about an artist are written in our own words. We do not send copy for approval.

Images: six to eight, with titles, dates and a photographer credit, and only those you own or have permission to share. Every pitch gets an answer; we would rather say no quickly than leave you waiting.
