Enrolling in the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Zhao pursued a double major in art and mathematics – a decision that laid the foundation for her distinctive artistic approach. Later, she refined her skills through the prestigious MFA Illustration as Visual Essay programme at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
