The AD100 list is an annual celebration of the best talents in design across various fields and disciplines. It showcases their work through stunning photographs and profiles that reveal their stories, their vision, and their impact.
This year’s list features seven new additions to the AD100 Hall of Fame, which honors those who have made lasting contributions to design history. They are Francis Kéré (Pritzker Prize 2022), David Rockwell (Rockwell Group), Victoria Hagan (Hagan Design), Jeffrey Bilhuber (Bilhuber Design), Waldo Fernandez (Fernandez Studio), Veere Grenney (Grenney Design), and Tino Zervudachi (Zervudachi Studio).
These designers come from different backgrounds and regions, but they share a common passion for creating beautiful and functional spaces that reflect their clients’ needs and personalities. They also demonstrate innovation and creativity in using new materials, technologies, and methods to achieve their goals.
Some of them have already made a name for themselves in the industry with their groundbreaking projects. For example:
Francis Kéré is a Senegalese architect who has been called “the world’s most famous architect” by Time magazine. He is known for his innovative use of local materials such as mud bricks and bamboo to build affordable housing for rural communities in Africa. He has also designed cultural centers, schools, mosques, churches, bridges, roadsides stalls, and even a solar-powered safari lodge in Botswana.
David Rockwell is an American designer who specializes in hospitality design. He has worked with some of the world’s most prestigious hotels such as The Plaza Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, The Four Seasons, The Peninsula Hotel, The St. Regis New York, among others. He has also designed restaurants such as Zaytinya by José Andrés in Miami Beach.
Victoria Hagan is an American designer who founded her own firm Hagan Design in 2018 after working for more than two decades at Ralph Lauren Corporation. She has designed luxury residences for celebrities such as Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian West, among others. She has also designed showrooms for brands such as Ralph Lauren Home Collection, Ralph Lauren Fragrances Collection, Ralph Lauren Polo Ralph Lauren Collection.
