On Saturday, 6th July 2024, the historic venue of St Peter’s in Hammersmith played host to an unforgettable violin concert, organized by renowned violinist and teacher Maxence Bretel. The concert attracted numerous classical music enthusiasts and left an indelible impression on all attendees.
The programme featured performances by various artists, but a few stood out in particular. Maxence Bretel, known for his mastery and deep understanding of music, performed a duet with his colleague, showcasing virtuoso technique and impeccable sense of harmony.
A special mention must be made of the young violinist Yan Bregman. Despite his young age, this gifted musician demonstrated a high level of skill and musicality. Yan delivered a solo performance of “Elfentanz (Danse des Sylphes)” by E. Jenkinson, capturing the audience’s attention with his vibrant and expressive rendition.
Yan began his violin studies with Maxence Bretel at the age of 12. Over the years, he has shown remarkable progress, winning numerous local and national competitions and receiving much positive feedback from teachers and audiences alike. Yan is a diligent and dedicated musician, always ready to take on new challenges and striving for excellence.
Maxence Bretel, the organiser of the concert and Yan’s mentor, is a professional violinist with extensive experience in both solo and orchestral performances. His teaching career at the Rachmaninoff Music Academy, along with numerous performances on prestigious stages worldwide, makes him an outstanding figure in the musical community.
The concert on 6th July at St Peter’s was a highlight in London’s cultural calendar, offering the audience an evening of high music and unforgettable experiences. Performances by talented musicians like Yan Bregman remind us of the importance of supporting and nurturing young talents who will undoubtedly be the stars of the musical stage in the future.
