Severance is a dark comedy series that premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2023, starring Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken, and Britt Lower. The show, created by Dan Erickson and directed by Ben Stiller, follows the employees of Lumen Industries, a company that offers a radical new procedure that severs the traumatic memories of its workers, allowing them to focus on their jobs and live happier lives. However, the procedure also has some unexpected and dangerous side effects, as the characters discover the secrets and mysteries of their pasts and their employer.

The first season of Severance ended with a shocking twist, revealing that Mark (Scott), the head of the Optics department, is actually the son of the founder of Lumen Industries, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Mark also learned that his co-worker and love interest, Jane (Lower), is actually his half-sister, and that his boss, Elizabeth (Arquette), is his stepmother and the mastermind behind the severance program. The season finale also left the fate of several characters in the air, such as Devon (Walken), the eccentric janitor who knows more than he lets on, and Ben (Zach Cherry), Mark’s loyal friend and colleague who was kidnapped by a rival company.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the second season of Severance, which is expected to premiere in late 2024, to find out what happens next. Here are some of the things you need to know about Severance season 2, including the cast, the release date, the plot, and the spoilers.

When will Severance season 2 be released?

The show’s creator, Dan Erickson, has also revealed that he has already planned the storylines for season 2 and beyond, as he has a clear vision for the show’s future. He said in an interview with Esquire, “I know how it ends. I know how the series ends, and you have to move in a straight line toward that end. You can’t walk in circles, waiting to get there, because the show will stagnate. So, you have to keep moving forward, and there have to be consequences in the world, and there have to be an evolution toward a conclusion.”

What will happen in Severance season 2?

Severance season 2 will continue the story of the employees of Lumen Industries, as they face new challenges and threats to their lives and their memories. The show will also explore the past and present of the characters, as well as their relationships and motivations.

The main question that fans want to know is what will happen to Mark, Jane, and Elizabeth, who are now in a complicated and incestuous family dynamic. Mark and Jane will have to deal with the shock and guilt of their situation, as well as the potential consequences of their severance procedure, which may have altered their personalities and memories. Elizabeth will have to face the wrath and revenge of Mark, who will seek to expose and destroy her and her company. Elizabeth will also have to contend with the return of Irving, who may have some secrets and surprises of his own.

Another question that fans want to know is what will happen to Devon, Ben, and the other characters, who are also involved in the mystery and conspiracy of Lumen Industries. Devon will have to decide whether to help or hinder Mark and Jane, as he knows more about their past and their father. Ben will have to escape and survive from the clutches of Dave, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the severance technology and use it for his own benefit.
