The stage design for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023, which will take place in Nice, France, on November 26, has been revealed by the host broadcaster France Télévisions. The design, created by Stéphane Roy, is inspired by the theme of the contest: Heroes.
The stage, which covers an area of 450 square meters, features a large LED screen in the shape of wings, symbolizing the desire to fly away, create and imagine. The wings are also a reference to the superheroes that the young participants represent, as they showcase their talents and courage on the international stage. The screen, which measures 30 meters wide and 12 meters high, will display various animations and effects to enhance the performances of the 16 competing countries.
The stage also includes a circular platform in the center, surrounded by a catwalk that allows the artists to interact with the audience. The platform can rotate and change height, creating different levels and dynamics. The stage is equipped with more than 500 lights and 150 speakers, ensuring a spectacular show for the viewers at home and in the arena.
The stage design was unveiled along with the hosts and the venue of the Junior Eurovision 2023. The show will be hosted by Olivier Minne and Laury Thilleman, two well-known French television personalities. The venue will be the Palais Nikaïa, a multi-purpose indoor arena that can accommodate up to 5,000 spectators. The opening ceremony will take place on November 20 at the Le Negresco hotel, located on the famous Promenade des Anglais.
