We are excited to introduce you to cultural and fashion personalities through interviews. In this issue, you can read our conversation with Himani Dubey, who is a makeup artist.
Today we will talk about what beauty artists think about the appearance of modern stars and about life surrounded by beautiful images created by human hands.
Himani Dubey is a woman of many talents. She is not only a successful makeup artist, but also a certified medic. She has been interested in art since childhood and turned her hobby into a profession.
Himani Dubey has always been drawn to art. She liked to experiment with colours and textures. She was also fascinated by the transformation that makeup can produce on a person’s face.
Himani Dubey is a basic professional makeup artist and a registered nurse. She has been doing basic makeup since she was 9 years old and also continues to study. She is currently practising both of her professions quite honestly. Along with makeup, Himani also provides hair styling services including chemicals.

-How did you discover your passion for makeup and beauty?
-«Since childhood, I have been attracted to art. I always used to paint, make drawings and more. I always used to look at my mother for makeup, so after 10th I started a makeup course and followed my passion.»
-What are some of the challenges or difficulties you faced in pursuing your career as a makeup artist?
-«Because of my family’s support, I have had very few problems by following my passion. She was very supportive when I started but when I started the course, my relatives told me that it will not be of any benefit to me but my family stuck to me and all the problems get solved easily. Starting mainly it is obviously difficult to build the trust of the clients but my passion for makeup has given me a lot of courage and my clients have encouraged me a lot.»
-What are some of the makeup trends or styles that you love or hate?
-«I like the natural subtle kind of base very much. But I don’t like it when people do patchy and extra layering of make-up when there is no need on their face. I like the nude looks today very much. I like the way many celebrities are flaunting their natural beauty these days.»
-How do you keep yourself updated with the latest techniques and products in the beauty industry?
-«Mainly, I take international or national master classes to keep myself updated about the industry and social media is the best platform which provides main updates about new trends.»
-What are some of the brands or products that you swear by or recommend to your followers?
-«I use both international and national products. Some of my favourite brands would be rare beauty, charlotte tilbury, estee lauder, dior, huda beauty, praush, loveearth.»
-How do you interact with your audience and what kind of feedback do you receive from them?
-«I have posted my work on the social media handle because so many people connected and got a lot of response from it. I have liked that many brides have seen the makeup of their choice and have done it. So there will be a positive response that I have been getting.»
-How do you cope with stress or pressure in your work environment?
-«There is a lot of competition these days. How do I show my work better and satisfy my clients? This is a task because they have so many options and I have to show people why they choose me. To get rid of this stress, I do meditation and have confidence in myself which helps me to deal with it. And of course my family which helps me to regain my strength and boost my confidence.»
-What are some of the skills or qualities that you think are essential for a successful makeup artist?
-«I think the main qualities a makeup artist should have are skills, consistency, and a lot of patience.
Because you think you will learn and get a lot of clients, that is not the case, we have to create clients in which there will be a lot of ups and downs so it is very important to show your upside. You should have to post regularly on social platforms to get a reach that will help you to grow and be real.»
-How do you measure your success or satisfaction in your work?
-«I am very grateful for whatever I am today, but I think that I also have to improve myself and make myself better, now there is a lot to see.»
-What is more important to you? Career or family?
-«Both career and family are very important for me because my family has supported me a lot to bring me to this place and whatever I am today is because of them. I have gained a lot of fame from this work and a lot of trust and have found that it is very beneficial and important for me.»
-If you were to be stranded on a desert island in a few minutes, what three things would you take there?
