1️⃣ Walk and sketch: Take a notepad and pencil and go for a walk. As you walk, notice anything that interests you – it could be a tree, a building, a flower, a person, and so on. Draw or write down your observations in a notebook. This will help you to record details of the world around you and develop your observation skills.
2️⃣ Letter to your future self: Write a letter to yourself in a certain time, for example one year or five years from now. In this letter you can share your dreams, goals and aspirations. This exercise can help you gain clarity about your desires and set new goals for yourself.
3️⃣ Collect paint samples: Visit a paint store and collect samples of your favourite colours. Cut out pieces of construction paper or take colour samples. This activity can help you expand your colour palette and pay attention to different shades.
4️⃣ Research an artist: Research the work of a new artist, writer or other creative person. Write down your thoughts about what touches you, makes you feel or inspires you about their work.
5️⃣ Rewrite a poem: Find a poem that fascinates you and write it out by hand in your notebook. This exercise will help you delve deeper into the world of poetry and enjoy the language and rhythm of the poem.
6️⃣ Biography for a stranger: Find a photo of a stranger and write a short biography for them. You can include his/her profession, hobbies, interests, etc. This exercise will help you develop fantasy and imagination.
7️⃣ Write a haiku: Try writing a haiku, a short Japanese poem of three lines. Haiku usually describe nature and convey a momentary impression. Try to express your thoughts and observations in the limited form of a haiku.
