In exciting news for fans worldwide, Margot Robbie’s production company is set to bring The Sims franchise to the big screen. Following the success of last year’s Barbie, Robbie-led LuckyChap Entertainment is teaming up with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment to create a live-action film based on the popular video game.

The film will be directed by Kate Herron, known for her work on the hit Marvel series Loki. Electronic Arts, the game’s publisher, will also be heavily involved in the creative and production process.

The Sims, a life simulation game in which players control customisable avatars in various daily activities, has been a global phenomenon since its debut in 2000. With nearly 200 million copies sold worldwide, it has evolved beyond its suburban origins through sequels and expansions.

While LuckyChap’s track record with Barbie and other projects has cemented its reputation in Hollywood, the development of The Sims movie is still in its early stages and has yet to be picked up by a studio. Fans have humorously suggested that the film should be entirely in Simlish, the iconic gibberish language spoken by the game’s characters.

As fans eagerly await further updates on this exciting project, it seems that The Sims movie will bring the beloved virtual world to life in a whole new way on the big screen.
