The annual Chess Festival will take place in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 17 July. A full day of free lessons and workshops, friendly tournaments with grandmasters, interactive games and other fun events await participants and guests. Incidentally, this year’s festival marks the 50th anniversary of the world chess championship match between the American Bobby Fischer and the Soviet chess player Boris Spassky.
