Stephen Beresford’s The Southbury Child, directed by Nicholas Hytner, is performed at the Bridge Theatre. Three-time Laurence Olivier Award-winning actor Alex Jennings plays the role of vicar David Highland as he undergoes a crisis of conscience. He has had to decide what is more important – church protocol or a little consolation for a grieving woman who wanted to bring balloons to her daughter’s funeral.

The production at the Bridge Theatre runs until 27 August.
